Almost everyone has had an idea and thought “hey, that would be a great idea for a book”. The unsettling truth is, in fact, there is an immense of work and knowledge that go into making a book. Most beginning writers often have the problem of not knowing where to start in the process. This is the easy part, you have a good idea, write it down. It’s that simple.
Before you begin writing your masterpiece, there a few things you should be aware of. First of writing a book, of any kind, takes skill. You should have a deep understanding for writing styles and the use of proper grammer. This will come in handy later on down the road, especially if you are trying to be serious and expect to find a legitimate publisher to look at it. Going to school or taking some English classes could definitely help put you in the right direction.

How long does it take to write a book? This question could have a lot of different answers, depending on the person. Factors that would go into the length of time it takes to write a book would include your skills as a writer, how much time you have to devote to your writing, and how serious you are about completing your book. There are some who can seriously sit down and get to work, completing a book in a few weeks to months. There are others that may take many months and possible even years to complete their project. It all depends on the person.
Do not be stubborn with ideas
Many writers, and we are all guilty of this, have problems formulating ideas for their book. This can seem like a hindering problem and may even seem Conducive to malingering, however the answer is usually on the top of your head. If you are having a hard time getting those creative juices flowing take a break, go for a walk or drive, your idea will strike you eventually. You could write about past experiences you have had, if you have children you could ask them what they think you should write, you never know kids have some colorful imaginations. There are plenty of ideas for the picking, you just have to take the initiative.
Be careful with publishers
When you finally get your book finished it may seem as if you’ve hit the “wall”. This can be a confusing time for all writers. There are very few publishing companies that will take inexperienced writers seriously, and even more fraudsters who will attempt to scam you.
This can be tempting sometimes, especially if you are ready to get your book out to the public. Just always remember to use your gut instincts and never fall for promises that you know don’t seem right. This is your book, your ideas, your masterpiece! Give it ample time to grow and it shall become a beautiful flower, a work of art.
